Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Dairy Gold collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than in the usual boilerplate, and to describe what this site actually does rather than every thing a website might conceivably do.

The principles we work to

Everything below follows from these. If anything later in this policy appears to contradict one of them, treat the principle as the one we meant:

1. We collect personal information lawfully and fairly, and only with your knowledge.
2. We tell you why we are collecting something, at or before the point we collect it.
3. We use it only for those purposes, or for something you have separately agreed to.
4. We collect only what we actually need for them.
5. We keep it accurate, complete and up to date for as long as it is in use.
6. We protect it with reasonable security safeguards.
7. We keep it only as long as it is needed, or as long as the law requires.
8. We make our handling of it open — this page is that openness.
9. We comply with the applicable data protection law of India.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, mobile number, email address and password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash; we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who obtains a copy of our database.
• Delivery addresses — the addresses and pincodes you save, so you do not have to retype them.
• Order history — what you ordered, when, at what price, and where it went. We are required to keep this for tax and accounting purposes.
• Your delivery pincode — kept in your browser session so we can quote shipping. It is not linked to you until you place an order.
• Basic technical information — server logs recording requests to the site, kept for security and troubleshooting.

What we do not collect

We never see your card details. Payment is handled entirely by our payment provider on their own systems; card numbers, CVVs and UPI credentials do not pass through this website and are not stored here.

We do not ask for information we have no use for. There is no advertising tracking on this site.

Why we use it

• To take, produce, invoice and deliver your order.
• To keep you updated on that order's progress.
• To let you sign in, see past orders, and reorder.
• To answer your questions and handle any complaint.
• To meet our legal obligations, including GST records.
• To keep the site secure and detect misuse.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so the site can remember your cart and keep you signed in. It is necessary for the site to work and does not track you across other websites. If you block it, the cart and your account will not function.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share only what is necessary, and only with:

• Our transport partners — the delivery name, address, pincode and phone number needed to get the consignment to you.
• Our payment provider — who handles the transaction directly with you under their own privacy policy.
• Our hosting provider — who stores the data on our behalf.
• Government authorities — where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept for eight years to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements. Account details are kept while your account is open. Ask us to close your account and we will remove your profile and saved addresses, but we must keep the underlying invoice records for that statutory period.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, admin access is restricted, and only the staff who need it can see customer data. Your information is held on secure servers located in India, or on the servers of the service providers listed above who hold it on our behalf.

We take reasonable technical and organisational precautions against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system connected to the internet is perfectly secure and we cannot promise otherwise — but we do not keep information we have no use for, which is the most effective protection there is.

Links to other websites

This site may link to websites we do not run — a payment provider, a courier's tracking page, or a social media profile. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, governed by their privacy policy and not this one. We are not responsible for their content or for how they handle your information, so please read their policy before giving them anything.

If the business changes hands

If Dairy Gold is merged with, acquired by, or sells its business or assets to another company, customer information may transfer as part of that business so that orders, invoices and accounts continue to work. Any buyer would be bound by this policy in respect of information collected under it, and we would publish notice of the change here.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, delete your account, or stop sending you messages that are not about an order you have placed. Your account pages let you update your details and addresses yourself at any time.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

This is a wholesale site and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy at any time, and we will do so whenever the way we handle your information changes. The revised version takes effect when it is published here, and the date at the top of the page always tells you which version you are reading. Please check it occasionally.

We will not, however, start using information we already hold for a materially different purpose without telling you.
